Different types of microbes like mould fungi, mildew fungi, algae, yeasts are found everywhere. Untreated plastic articles can be attacked by growth of microbes causing discoloration, unpleasant odors and polymer degradation. Antimicrobial additives can be incorporated with plastic resins during compounding or as a Masterbatch during processing and provide a biocide treatment to control microbes. These antimicrobials protect the surface from staining and degradation caused by micro-organisms. Antimicrobials maintain hygiene by controlling /decreasing the amount of micro-organisms on the object surface.

Addkan Antimicrobial Masterbatches :
Two different type of grades based on applications :
ADV/02/0039 for PP applications
ADV/01/0093 for PE applications

These Masterbatches are based on silver ion antimicrobial additive.

These Masterbatches contain 5% active content of antimicrobial additive, which interferes with the microbe’s cell metabolism, such that it cannot reproduce itself and hence keeping the product made using Addkan Antimicrobial Masterbatches fresh, hygienic and germfree. This product is suitable for food grade applications also.
